
BEIJING, May 11 (Xinhua) -- A two-month-long show season, featuring programs including dramas, concerts, traditional Chinese opera performances, has started in Beijing.
For this year's show season, the sixth of the kind, the Beijing Performance and Arts Group, in cooperation with two other major art groups in the neighboring Tianjin Municipality and Hebei Province, will perform 46 shows at 12 theaters in Beijing, highlighting the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
Audiences are able to enjoy a variety of performances including dance drama "The Railway to Tibet" by the National Center for the Performing Arts, and modern drama "Sunrise" written by the well-known Chinese playwright Cao Yu and presented by the Tianjin People's Art Theater.
Other stage plays such as operas, children's dramas, puppet shows and concerts are also scheduled during the show season which began Thursday.
