BEIJING, June 1 (Xinhua) -- An article by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, on the rural vitalization strategy was published Saturday in the 11th issue of the Qiushi Journal this year.
The article by Xi, also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, underscored the central place on the work agenda of the Party of addressing the issues of agriculture, rural areas and rural people.
Without the modernization of agriculture and rural areas, there will be no modernization of the country, the article said. "In the process of modernization, how to properly handle the relations between industry and agriculture, urban and rural areas, to a certain extent, determines the success or failure of modernization."
The article pointed out that the modernization of agriculture and rural areas was the overall goal of the rural vitalization strategy.
The article urged Party committees and Party organizations at all levels to strengthen leadership, and provide a strong political underpinning for the implementation of the rural vitalization strategy.
