BEIJING, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Seventeen Chinese national political advisors on Tuesday made suggestions on promoting high-quality development of manufacturing sectors while giving speeches at a meeting of the standing committee of the 13th National Committee of China's top advisory body.
Among their proposals, the political advisors called for greater research efforts to achieve breakthroughs in key core technologies, stepping up reform to create better systems and environments for high-quality development of manufacturing sectors, improving vocational education to supply more high-level technological and technical talent, and building a high-quality development area for manufacturing sectors by giving full play to the unique advantages of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top advisory body, is convening the seventh meeting of its standing committee between June 17 and 19 in Beijing.
A number of vice-chairpersons of the CPPCC National Committee attended Tuesday's meeting.
