The provincial authorities recently released the list of 64 “science-savvy towns” of Yunnan Province in 2019 for popularizing scientific knowledge in various fields of their lives. As many as five towns from Pu’er have made it to the list, namely Nuozhadu Town in Lancang Lahu Autonomous County, Mengma Town in Menglian Dai Lahu Wa Autonomous County, Mohei Town in Ning'er Hani Yi Autonomous County, Tongguan Town in Mojiang Hani Autonomous County, and Jinping Town in Jingdong Yi Autonomous County.
Each town will be granted RMB 500,000 to further scientific popularization.
