
BEIJING, Aug. 9 -- A three-day performance featuring 41 plays of various opera forms has unveiled in Boxing County, eastern China's Shandong Province, according to the China Theater Association.
The plays, belonging to 34 opera forms listed as intangible cultural heritage, are performed by 38 art troupes nationwide, showcasing the diversity and profundity of the traditional art of Chinese opera.
The opera forms include commonly-seen Lyu opera, Han opera, Huangmei opera, Xi opera and some rare genres. Boxing County is the hometown of Lyu opera.
The performance, which lasts from Wednesday to Friday, is co-hosted by the theatrical art center of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Shandong Theater Association and the people's government of Binzhou City.
