
BEIJING, Aug. 28 -- The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) on Wednesday announced the launch of an enforcement inspection of the Law on Renewable Energy.
Inspection teams will be sent to six provincial-level regions between August and October. Legislative bodies in 12 other provincial-level regions are tasked to run parallel inspections.
The inspectors will focus on respects ranging from research on renewable energy resources, the development plan for renewable energy to suggestions to revise the existing law.
At the meeting of the inspection teams, Shen Yueyue, vice chairwoman of the NPC Standing Committee, stressed the significance of developing and utilizing renewable energy, and demanded sound law enforcement.
She also called for promoting energy restructuring, developing renewable energy resources and pushing forward environmentally friendly development.
A report based on the results of the inspection will be produced and submitted to the NPC Standing Committee in December.
