LANZHOU, Sept. 23 -- China and Israel plan to jointly build a green industrial park in the city of Lanzhou, capital of northwest China's Gansu Province, according to a forum held on Sunday.
The China Israel (Lanzhou) Green Industrial Park will be located in Yuzhong County, according to the China-Israel Industrial Innovation Cooperation Forum in Lanzhou.
The park has eight major industrial sectors, including military-civilian integration technology, biomedicine, big data Internet and artificial intelligence.
Omer Hendel, trade officer at the Trade and Investment Mission of the Israeli Embassy in Beijing, said Israel and Gansu are both important hubs on the Belt and Road, and are highly similar in terms of geography and climate. Hendel hopes to bring world-class advanced science and technology and knowledge to Gansu, and carry out international cooperation in various fields with the province.
Li Rongcan, Party chief of the city of Lanzhou, said that the forum aims to learn from Israel's innovation mechanism, attract and utilize relevant innovation resources, speed up the pace of industrial transformation and upgrading, and provide inexhaustible impetus for Lanzhou's high-quality economic development in key areas such as life and health, intelligent manufacturing and new materials.
In recent years, Israel and China have continuously strengthened cooperation in various fields including eco-agriculture, pharmaceuticals and desertification control technology.
