A brand new Iveco vehicle just arrived in Shanghai Thursday, becoming the first exhibit of the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) to be held this November.

The vehicle, shipped from the Port of La Spezia, Italy, weighs about 3 tons and is worth nearly 50,000 Euros ($54,570).

The first exhibit of the second CIIE happens to coincide with that of the first CIIE - a biofuel car from Finland. Both of the exhibit materials entered China about a month before the opening of the events.

Tommaso Croce, business director of Iveco China, introduced that as a company which has entered the Chinese market after the reform and opening up, Iveco has witnessed and experienced the tremendous development of China which started around 1985.

The exhibition booth of Iveco covered 120 square meters at the first CIIE, Croce said, adding that it will be expanded to 301 square meters this year. According to him, many new Italian carmaker models will make their Asian debut at the second CIIE.

The Iveco models to be exhibited at the second CIIE entered China via ATA Carnet, a document that permits temporary imports of goods. The custom clearance only took several minutes thanks to the facilitation measures issued by the Shanghai Customs District.

Last year, the time for the ATA Carnet has been extended from six months to one year, which helps overseas exhibitors expand market in China after the conclusion of the CIIE.

According to statistics, over 3,000 enterprises from 150 countries and regions have registered for the second CIIE, and business exhibitions are expected to cover more than 300,000 square meters of floor space.
