As host city of the upcoming second China International Import Expo (CIIE), Shanghai has put in place a series of new technologies to provide convenient information services for visitors, news website Shanghai Observer reported on Oct. 12.
A dynamic and flexible network will cover the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, the venue for the annual CIIE. It will automatically adjust network traffic and signals according to the flow of visitors on a real-time basis.
The Shanghai branch of China Mobile has developed a two-dimensional tunable antenna for 4G and 5G applications. The tunable antenna could be used to achieve real-time analysis without the help of big data. Currently, the first two-dimensional tunable antennas have been installed on the north square of the CIIE venue.
A monitor system independently developed by China Unicom’s Shanghai branch, which carries a malfunction diagnostic system, an internet protocol self-healing system and a robot webmaster, has been upgraded with functions such as around-the-clock monitoring.
For the first time, 5G technology and mixed reality will be applied to monitor the network at the CIIE venue.
