Shanghai is about to embrace an influx of exhibits for the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) a few days later.

According to the operation center of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), over 3,000 enterprises from 150 countries and regions will participate in this year’s CIIE event.

Besides, the number of Fortune Global 500 enterprises and industry leaders, as well as the number of product and technology debuts are expected to exceed the number seen in the previous expo.

A cargo van produced by Italian car maker Iveco that arrived in Shanghai on Sept. 26 was the very first exhibit of this year’s CIIE. The vehicle weighs 3 tons and has a value of nearly 50,000 Euros. It will finish their debut at the second CIIE.

On Oct. 12, a giant ship carrying 150 kinds exhibition items for 23 Turkish exhibitors berthed at Yangshan Port, Shanghai. It is so far the ship that has transported the most exhibition items for the most exhibitors during this year’s CIIE.

Apart from food, beverage and dried fruits that have been exhibited by Turkish companies at the last CIIE, the vessel also brought new commodities to the event this time including home appliances, medical apparatus, and tableware. “We have almost brought a ‘huge market’ to Shanghai,” said an exhibitor.

It is reported that, to better facilitate the customs clearance procedures, the Shanghai Customs District has established a special customs office at the expo venue to supervise clearance for foreign exhibits and provide one-stop services for the exhibitors of the second CIIE.
