BEIJING, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- An online platform selling agricultural products from poverty-stricken counties in China has been put into use, according to the Ministry of Finance, the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development and the All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives.
The online platform is an electronic sales platform for making transactions, providing services and monitoring markets, which connects the agricultural products from the country's 832 poverty-stricken counties with the government purchasing channels.
According to the policy announced by the government earlier this year, budget units of various government bodies are encouraged to prioritize the purchase of agricultural products from the poverty-stricken areas.
The move is expected to increase the income of the impoverished people and help them get rid of poverty and boost the agricultural industrialization in poverty-stricken areas.
