BEIJING, Oct. 21 -- Chinese lawmakers on Monday continued to review the draft law on cryptography.
Classifying cryptography into core, common and commercial cryptography, the draft was submitted for a second review at the bi-monthly legislative session of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress that opened Monday.
Based on the first review in June, the draft underlines the training of different ranks of cryptography personnel by moving related content to the general provisions.
A stipulation on an accountability system for the confidentiality of cryptography has been added to the draft, which also stipulates that response measures should be taken immediately whenever risks concerning the security of core and common cryptography are found.
Moreover, the revised draft highlights the certification and security examination of commercial cryptography products, makes clear the duty of confidentiality of such certification and examination bodies, and further elaborates on the legal liability of violators.
