BEIJING, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- The second Global Health Forum (GHF) of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) will be held from June 15 to 17, 2020 in the coastal city Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province, said BFA Secretary General Li Baodong at a press conference Tuesday.
"In recent years, significant progress has been made globally in the field of health development," Li said. "However, deep-rooted health issues remain, such as the lack of basic health care in less-developed countries."
The GHF aims to provide connections between health undertakings in China, Asia and the world and promote exchanges and cooperation in the field of health, Li said.
With a theme of "Health Beyond Health -- In the Year of Sustainable Development 2030," the same as last year, the second forum will continue focusing on "Universal Health Coverage," "Innovation" and "Health in All Policies," said Margaret Chan Fung Fu-chun, president of the GHF.
About 30 sub-forums will be held, covering topics of garbage sorting, lifestyle diseases, artificial intelligence and medical insurance systems, among others.
An expo will also be held during next year's forum, serving as a platform for the health industry and health-related financial, investment, technological and service institutions to showcase their products and technologies.
Launched by the BFA, the first GHF was held in June this year in Qingdao, with about 2,600 delegates from 55 countries and regions attending the forum.
