KUWAIT CITY, Oct. 28 -- Hong Kong affairs are purely China's internal affairs and China is capable of containing the unrest in Hong Kong, Deputy Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Khalid Al-Jarallah said on Sunday.
He made the remarks on the sidelines of a diplomatic event held in Hawalli Governorate by the United Nations (UN) Secretary General Representative and Resident Coordinator to Kuwait Tareq Al-Sheikh.
"We reaffirm that what happened in Hong Kong is internal affairs of friendly China," Khalid Al-Jarallah told Xinhua.
"China is capable of containing such demonstrations, unrest and instability in Hong Kong with its greatness, capabilities and leadership," he stressed.
He expressed Kuwait's support for the principle of "one country, two systems," saying that "we believe in absolute faith in one-China (principle), and this is a firm fact and we deal with it consistently and positively."
