GUANGZHOU, Nov. 10-- Wang Chen, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and head of the China Law Society, on Sunday stressed that the rule of law is an imperative part in the construction of the Belt and Road (B&R).
Wang made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the China Forum on International Legal Cooperation in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province.
Before delivering his speech, he read Chinese President Xi Jinping's congratulatory letter to the forum, saying that the letter showed China's sincere hope to build a sound legal environment along with the international community, and provided significant guidance to international legal cooperation and the construction of the B&R.
China is willing to carry out profound legal exchanges and cooperation with countries along the B&R, build more solid consensus, set higher goals and establish better platforms for dialogues in legal cooperation, and work together to convert the cooperation into more results, Wang said.
He hoped that law professionals from different countries can deepen exchanges and share experience, continuously bring benefits to countries and peoples along the B&R in the legal field, and let the rule of law play a bigger role in the joint construction of the B&R.
