During a routine visit, community police officers from Furong Police Station of Changsha Municipal Public Security Bureau in China’s Hunan Province found that professor Yuan Longping, the academician behind China National Hybrid Rice R&D Center, had accidentally damaged his ID card. They immediately applied to Furong Police Station for a door-to-door ID registration service for the professor, considering that he is 90 years old and occupied with work.

The Furong Police Station branch has been actively working to streamline administration, delegate power, improve regulations and upgrade services, and has provided door-to-door ID registration service for disabled or elderly citizens for years. Since 2018, they have provided such service to a total of 52 citizens.
