BEIJING, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee called for further improving the work of its special committees at a conference held Monday.
Wang Yang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, attended and addressed the conference.
Attendees to the conference also engaged in an in-depth study of the spirits of the fourth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the Central Conference on CPPCC Work.
The attendees fully acknowledged the contributions and achievements of the special committees over the past 70 years.
The special committees played an important role in serving the socialist revolution, construction and reform, as well as advancing the modernization of the system and capacity for governance, said the attendees.
The special committees should improve the quality of their research and proposals to pool and spread the consensus, said the attendees, adding that the special committees should also strengthen the study of political theory and cultivate characteristics in different special committees.
The attendees also asked the special committees to innovate their ways of working to promote communication with non-Party organizations and personages.
