BEIJING, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- China's central bank will take a string of steps to make it easier for Macao residents to use mobile payments in the mainland.
These steps include promoting Macao's local digital wallets on the mainland and enabling opening some kinds of mainland bank accounts in Macao to enjoy related mobile payment services, according to a statement released Thursday by the People's Bank of China (PBOC).
The PBOC said it would work with Macao's financial authority to ensure steady implementation of such steps and make life more convenient in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
