
In a news program recently broadcasted by CCTV, live footage of J-15 fighter jets training to take off and land on China’s Shandong aircraft carrier was first exposed. The new aircraft carrier, named after Shandong Province in east China, was delivered to the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy and placed in active service on Dec. 17, 2019 at a naval port in Sanya, south China's Hainan Province. It was given the hull number 17.
