HARARE, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi told reporters here on Monday during his visit to Africa that the governments and leaders of the African countries he visited clearly stated that they adhere to the one-China principle and clearly pointed out that Taiwan is an integral part of China.
Wang stressed that the one-China principle is not only the unanimous position held by African countries, but also the common understanding held by the international community. "This consensus will not be changed in the slightest just because of a local election in Taiwan, nor will it be shaken by the wrong words and deeds of certain Western politicians," said Wang.
Wang reiterated that the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the reunification of the two sides across the Taiwan Strait are inevitable. "Anyone that goes against the historical trend is doomed to reach the dead end and anybody that divides the nation will remain notorious in history," he said.
