TIANJIN, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Villagers in Huozhuangzi, northern China's Tianjin Municipality, has become familiar with the "buzzing" sound of flying drones, which regularly spray disinfectant in every corner of public areas these days.

He said the cooperative has two unmanned aerial vehicles for spraying pesticides on rice and cornfields. Now they are used to spray disinfectant liquid on streets, schools, parks and other public spaces.

He said he only needs to set flight parameters such as height and range, before watching the drones hovering for the work.

"It saves a lot of manpower while avoiding cross-infection in the work," Huo said.

Rural cooperatives have played an important role in epidemic prevention and control work in China's rural areas by introducing agricultural tools like drones and tractors for mass disinfection work in villages and towns.

"Doing the work with agricultural machinery and equipment reflects the wisdom of farmers and improves work efficiency," said Zhang Kai, secretary of the Party Committee of Tianjin Beichen District Agricultural and Rural Committee.
