
URUMQI, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- A total of 148 tourist sites in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region announced they would provide preferential policies to medical workers nationwide including visiting sites for free by the end of 2020.
The tourist sites that exempt tickets for medical staff include 13 sites with China's highest 5A rating such as Tianchi Lake in Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture.
A total of 47 tourist sites in the prefecture will exempt tickets for medical staff and their relatives by March 31, 2021.
The Nalat Grassland Resort in Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture announced to exempt tickets for Xinjiang's medical workers that aided Wuhan in fighting the novel coronavirus and their immediate family members such as parents by the end of 2020.
China has a tourism rating system that rates tourist attractions from A to 5A based on overall quality.
