BEIJING, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- China has been promoting knowledge of eye health and myopia prevention among school children via media platforms as some 200 million students are studying at home amid the novel coronavirus outbreak, the Ministry of Education said Tuesday.
An expert panel, comprised of ophthalmologists, experts from disease control and prevention agencies and officials from health and education authorities, has popularized such knowledge among some 20 million people through special programs, interviews and short videos aired and published on media platforms, the ministry said.
Articles and videos tailored by the experts for social media platforms have garnered more than 10 million views nationwide, it added.
The expert panel has also been working on a free online ophthalmologist counseling platform, according to the ministry.
