COPENHAGEN, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Further 180 cases COVID-19 infection were confirmed Wednesday in Denmark, raising the total number from 262 to 442 in one day, according to the Danish Patient Safety Authority.

Bolette Soborg, chief medical officer at the National Board of Health, expected more reported cases in the coming days.

"There will be a dark figure, but we have good control over it," said Soborg in a press conference held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs earlier the day.

Kaare Molbak, a consultant from the National Serum Institute, said despite "incredibly good control" of the COVID-19 epidemic in the country, there was yet "perfect" surveillance.

"There are citizens who walk around the community, who we have missed," said Molbak.

The National Board of Health expanded further the assessment to announce that the its strategy of focus will soon shift from containment -- preventing the virus from coming to Denmark, to a focus on mitigation, that is, concentrating more on limiting the spread at home and giving priority to treatment to those who need it most.

"We are close to entering this new phase. It will happen soon," said Soborg.
