BEIJING, March 10 -- Chrysler will recall 20,670 vehicles in China after finding oil pipe defects, the country's quality watchdog said on Thursday.
The affected imported Compass and Patriot models were manufactured between Jan. 1, 2015 and May 11, 2015, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in a statement on its website.
Chrysler said the defective power steering oil pipe may cause oil leaks and result in fires, said the statement.
Starting on Thursday, the company will replace the faulty components free of charge.
