
On Feb. 27 (local time), a joint operational military exercise, code-named Northern Thunder, was launched in northern Saudi Arabia. The exercise aims to increase coordination between countries participating in the exercise to combat terrorism and facilitate the exchange of information and experience, according to Saudi Press Agency. It also shows strong hope of participants to maintain regional security and stability. In terms of the military forces getting involved, it is one of the world's largest drills. A total of 20 countries participated in it including Pakistan, Malaysia, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Sudan and Senegal.(CNS Photo)
