| A teacher strikes an iron school bell at Liyuan Elementary School in Xikeng Village under Wanzai County of Yichun, east China's Jiangxi Province, May 20, 2014. The lack of trained teachers has been a ubiquitous problem that bothers many elementary schools in rural China. Education authorities of Wanzai County have launched a five-year teacher training program in 2014 to address the demand for teachers in the county's rural areas. Each year, the program will receive 30 junior high applicants who are from rural areas. Half of the applicants are required to work in rural schools when they finish the program. (Xinhua/Zhou Mi) |
