BEIJING, May 25 (People’s Daily Online) -- Danish Embassy in Beijing organized a “Climate Race” both within the city and in the suburbs on Saturday. The idea was to capture China’s current rising interest in environmental policies and aspirations for green-economic development and raise awareness of climate issues.
After gathering at the Embassy, Danish Ambassador Friis Arne Petersen, Canadian Ambassador Guy Saint-Jacques and selected participants went on a bike ride together in the Sanlitun area. Later on the same day a longer bike race with participants from local bike clubs and associations took place in Yeya Lake National Wetland Park in Yanqing north of Beijing.
