| Photo taken on May 24, 2014 shows the amazing scenery in Hutiao Gorge. Hutiao Gorge is located in the upper reaches of the Jinsha River, to the northeast of Lijiang, in southwest China's Yunnan Province. The narrowest stretch in the river is only about 30 meters across. According to a legend, a tiger failed to jump across the river at that point. The river is about 29 kilometers long, reaching 3,790 meters in depth between Jade Dragon and Haba Snow Mountains, creating one of the most spectacular deep gorges in the world.(People's Daily Online/Huang Jin) |
