People’s Daily launched its free mobile app today, offering users unrestricted access to contents. People’s Daily mobile app is not just about bringing the entire newspaper to mobile platform; it will engage readers and encourage them to leave comments and feedbacks with the app.
The launching ceremony held at 2014 Mobile Internet Development conference in Beijing signifies People’s Daily’s move to provide mobile news service and focus on the future development of new media. President of People’s Daily Yang Zhenwu said: “With the popularization of mobile terminal, it is easier for people to access information using sophisticated handheld devices, and mobile app is a key entry point. People’s Daily, as the flagship newspaper of the Communist Party of China (CPC), is committed to provide plenty of news facts and opinions to mobile Internet users at a time and place that suits them.”
People’s Daily mobile app comprises four sections - People’s Daily coverage, exclusive opinions, audios, and an inquiry zone for subscribers to ask questions.
