BEIJING, June 25 -- The latest version of monster flick "Godzilla" ruled China's box office by taking in 199 million yuan (31.8 million U.S. dollars) in the week ending June 22.
Not far behind was Angelina Jolie's "Maleficent," a fantasy-adventure that retells the life of Sleeping Beauty, with 140 million yuan, according to a China Film News report on Wednesday.
"Edge of Tomorrow," a sci-fi action movie starring Tom Cruise, came in third with 70.8 million yuan.
Fourth place went to "X-Men: Days of Future Past," which raked in 13 million yuan.
"Grace of Monaco," a romance starring Nicole Kidman, took fifth spot with 12.9 million yuan.
