BEIJING, June 29 (People’s Daily Online) --The Blue Book of International Communication, which is the very first Blue Book focusing on China’s international communication was issued on June 28 in Beijing at a symposium on international discourse system and international communication capacity construction, a secession of China Communication Forum 2014.
Blue Book of International Communication is the first professional annual report on the development of China’s international communication. Edited by the National Center for Radio & Television Studies the book collected the observations and ideas of both government departments, mainstream media, education, culture and information organizations that undertake international communication practices and experts and researchers who have done studies on this topic domestically and beyond.
The whole report is structured surrounding three binary relations: practice and theory, domestic and international, macroscopic and microscopic, through which a comprehensive and systematic picture of China’s international communication is drawn.
“This blue book is planned to be updated and published every two years. It’s expected to serve as a reference for the officials, assistance to media insiders and a database for researchers and communication fans,” said Hu Zhengrong, the vice-president of Communication University of China.
China Communication Forum is a very important platform for academic discussion on communication. Organized by National Center for Radio & Television Studies, it now has a history of 14 years.
Senior managers from main Chinese media organizations such as People’s Daily Online, Global Times, Xinhua News Agency, China Radio International, China Central Television, China Daily, and experts from China Academy of Social Sciences, Communication University of China among other academic institutions delivered speeches at the symposium.
