BEIJING, July 23 -- Typhoon Matmo will make a landfall in east China's Fujian Province on Wednesday afternoon or night with a wind speed of 33 to 35 meters per second, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) forecast.
Typhoon Matmo, the 10th typhoon to affect China this year, will land in somewhere between Shishi and Lianjiang, while bringing strong winds and rainstorms in Fujian, southern Zhejiang and Taiwan, according to the NMC.
Matmo was at 24.9 degrees north latitude and 119.6 degrees east longitude, moving at 20 kilometers per hour towards Putian, Fujian Province, with winds up to 35 meters per second at 2:00 p.m., according to the NMC.
Before Matmo, super typhoon Rammasun had killed 46 people as of 9 a.m. Tuesday, leaving another 25 missing, according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
