Yong Qian is now studying in a training school in Chongqing, SW China, who lost her left arm in the Wenchuan earthquake six years ago. But she chose the paintbrush to help her realize her dream despite her lost left arm. A Dan, a famous painter, saw the girl’s story on the Internet and was moved by her persistence. So he went to see the girl in her school and gave her encouragement and support in the hope of helping her pursuing her dream with confidence.
Yong once said that her goal was the Animation Design major of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. She once studied in Shifang Middle School in Sichuan and arrived at this training school on June 12. Yong studied so hard that she practiced painting from nine o’clock in the morning to almost three o’clock in the next morning everyday. “Black represents my helplessness and self-abasement in the earthquake, but now it changes to yellow which means hope.” Yong said about her past and future.
