BYD Xi'an production base for new energy vehicles was completed in Xi'an High-tech Zone on Sept. 19, 2014. Lou Qinjian, governor of Shaanxi Province announced officially the production base was put into operation. Wei Minzhou, party secretary of Xi’an was present at the ceremony. Dong Jun, mayor of Xi’an and Wang Chuanfu, president of BYD company gave speeches respectively.
BYD is a main new energy automobile manufacturing company in China. Xi'an base marked a new leap in its technology and scale. The operation of Xi’an base will provide jobs to about 20,000 people and achieve an annual output value of more than $4 billion.
