BEIJING, Sept. 28 -- Vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission Xu Qiliang met with Romanian Minister of National Defense Mircea Dusa on Sunday.
Pointing out Romania is one of the first countries to establish diplomatic ties with China, Xu said China views Romania as a trustworthy friend and partner in central and east Europe.
China attaches great importance to developing military-to-military relations with Romania, said Xu, adding that the country is ready to enhance exchange and cooperation with Romania so as to increase mutual trust and understanding.
Dusa said Romanian and Chinese armed forces have conducted long-term and close cooperation. He said Romania is willing to further push forward bilateral military cooperation with China through his current visit at the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.
China and Romania forged diplomatic ties on Oct. 5, 1949, four days after the founding of the People's Republic of China.
