GUANGZHOU, Oct. 5 -- A vehicle pileup in south China's Guangdong Province on Saturday afternoon has killed eight people, local authorities announced on Sunday.

The accident happened at about 4:11 p.m. in Zijin County when a truck collided with a car and a minibus. Eight people in the minibus, including the driver, died in the accident, according to the county public security bureau.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
