A large number of visitors were trapped on Mount Putuo as the ferry service was suspended due to typhoon Vongfong starting from 10.30 a.m., Oct. 12, 2014. In Zhoushan, a yellow warning signal was issued for the typhoon. About 62,400 visitors came to the mount to attend a Buddhism event held from October 10 to 12 in 2014.
