London has claimed the best city in The World’s 50 Best Bars Awards for 2014.
The list, chosen by over 330 of the drinks industry’s international experts represents the ultimate guide to the top bars around the globe. This year’s list includes bars from 27 cities in 14 countries, with 14 new entries. London prevailed to retain the Number One spot with Artesian taking the title of The World’s Best Bar for the third consecutive year.
Overall, Europe appears to be the international epicentre for good drinking as it led the regions’ ranking with 21 of its bars included within the 50 Best list. In particular London boasted more bars in the top 50 than any other city with eight bars listed overall.
Asia saw an additional bar join the top 50 this year with Star Bar Ginza in Tokyo entering at number 40 meaning that Japan now boasts two of the top 50. Within the overall top ten there were two Asian bars included with Tokyo’s High Five at number nine and Singapore’s 28 Hongkong Street retaining its position at number ten.
