Sandu Ancient Town, originally named Xiangyu Ancient Castle, is located in Xiangyu Village, 58 kilometers southwest of Qinshui County in north China's Shanxi Province.
The ancient castle was built in 1634, covering an area of 32,500 square meters. It is a typical defensive castle with high historical, cultural and artistic values. The castle has been hailed by experts as "the best ancient castle of the Ming Dynasty among villages in north China".
