Russia to launch 70 Proton rockets by 2020: officialBEIJING, Nov. 21 -- A nationwide initiative to address the distribution of fake and substandard products has uncovered 112,700 cases of intellectual property rights (IPR) infringement in the first three quarters of the year, official data released Friday shows.
More than 1,938 manufacturing "dens" have been uncovered and over 20,000 suspects detained during the campaign, IPR infringement and counterfeiting office deputy head, Chai Haitao, said at a press conference.
According to Chai, intensified measures will continue to root out those involved in the online sale of counterfeit and inferior goods, an increasingly rampant practice amid the digital age.
The task, he said, was a challenge, with 26 percent of all tested goods during a sample survey failing to pass quality examinations.
Without identifying any of the culprits, Chai said 254 e-commerce websites had been put under government supervision.
