BEIJING, Dec. 11 -- China's top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng met with Cuban Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces Leopoldo Cintra Frias on Thursday .
Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Cuba in July charted the direction for the development of China-Cuba relations.
Saying bilateral military ties are part of party-to-party and country-to-country relations between China and Cuba, Yu spoke highly of the progress in high-level exchanges and training between the two militaries.
Cintra said Xi's Cuba visit is a great success and Cuba appreciates the support and help China has provided to its development.
Cintra said Cuba is committed to the development of military ties between the two countries with more exchanges and cooperation.
Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan attended the meeting.
