The restaurant Fraunces on Manhattan North Street in New York, United States, made a major contribution to the defining of the United States territory. Fraunces was a conference room during the American Revolution. President Washington used the place as his headquarters, and actually conducted his negotiations with Great Britain here. Fraunces is now both a bar and a restaurant, serving traditional New York seafood.
