
On Dec. 12, 2014, Pu'er Industrial Park signed a cooperation agreement with Nestle. Under the agreement, Nestle will construct a coffee center engaged in training, testing and warehousing in Pu'er and the center is expected to be built up in 2015.
According to the source, with an area of 30,000 square meters, the project is Nestle's first global coffee center. The proposed center is composed of a coffee planting training center, a modern coffee quality assurance laboratory, as well as comprehensive processing and warehousing facilities.
The center will create sales channels for Pu'er coffee and provide technical support for local coffee growers; it will play a significant role in promoting the development of Pu'er coffee industry and shows that the international coffee industry highly recognizes the quality of Pu'er coffee.
According to the source, with a planting area of over 710,000 mu, Pu'er is Yunnan's largest coffee-producing area. In the season of coffee purchase from 2014 to 2015, Nestle will purchase some 10,000 tons of coffee beans in Pu'er.
