
10,021 students from Sichuan Southwest College of Civil Aviation practice Wing Chun in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan province on Jan. 8, 2015. Wing Chun is a concept-based Chinese martial art and form of self-defense utilizing both striking and grappling while specializing close-range combat.
Guinness representative John Garland declared the show the largest Wing Chun display. The previous Guinness World Record was set in an event involving 3,167 participants in Foshan, south China's Guangdong province on Sept. 24, 2010.
The civil aviation school offered Wing Chun course in cooperation with masters of martial art to better prepare the students for security emergencies in airplanes.
