A few days after the opening of the bullet train from Beijing to Yanjiao, a town under the administration of Sanhe city in Hebei province, the occupancy fell to below 30 percent. Some of the cars were even vacant. When the first bullet train started operation on Jan. 12, every car was full and some passengers even had to stand. Just after a dozen days, the number of the passengers almost hit the bottom. Some passengers said that the time and price are the principal factors that made them give up the bullet train.
