Xi'an Banpo Museum is China's first museum of prehistoric ruins, a national key cultural relics protection unit , and "China 's first village history ” known by foreign tourists.
Banpo Museum, located on the east bank of a river in eastern suburbs of Xi'an, is a typical matriarchal clan community settlement sites dating back over 6,000 years, along the Yellow River.
More than 30,000 pieces collections of Yangshao and Longshan prehistoric artifacts were displayed in the museum. Representative collections are Seaman pattern pots, deer pattern pots, pot head and people face a bird head pattern bottles.
