Video screenshot shows an adult giant panda appearing at 2 a.m. in the street of Yingxiu Town in southwest China's Sichuan province on March 5.
Staff of the Wolong Giant Panda Reserve said they are still in search of the giant panda in the video.
In the video, the giant panda at first appeared in the green belt near a scenic spot and then crossed the street. It tried to enter the scenic spot by clinging to the iron gate, but unsuccessfully. Then it crossed two zebra crossings, and finally entered the scenic spot by jumping over the flower bed area. At last it disappeared in the darkness. According to the manager of the scenic spot, the panda did not show up again.
"This is the first giant panda spotted in the surrounding town of Yingxiu," a staff member in Forestry Department in Wenchuan County has confirmed.
The scenic spot where the giant panda appeared is 40 kilometers away from the Wolong Giant Panda Reserve.
