| Wang Lian, a teacher of Xudong Middle School, draws a scenic spot on a leaf in Nanjing, East China’s Jiangsu province. The teacher has finished drawing all 48 scenic spots of Nanjing, including park, temple, and mausoleum, on plane tree leaves in three months. Plane trees, sometimes called French Phoenix trees, were planted in the late 1920s along the main road to Sun Yat-Sen's mausoleum to honor the founding father of the Republic of China. More trees were planted later along most of Nanjing's major streets. (Photo/yangtse.com) |
