Dong Jun, NPC deputy and mayor of Xi'an, proposes to establish "National Innovation Demonstration Zone" in Xi'an High-tech Zone, to strengthen the supporting and innovation role of Xi'an High-tech Zone in the construction of economic belt of the new Silk Road.
Dong Jun suggested that the state support Xi'an High-tech Zone's exploration and practice on the reform in coordination of scientific and technological resources, civil-military integration development, construction of regional innovation system and cultivation of strategic emerging industries to let the national demonstration zone play a full leading role in innovation-driven development.
At the same time, he suggested to the establish an inter-ministerial coordination group led by the Ministry of Science to make coordination among various departments, to give active support in major projects arrangements, policy pilot and institutional innovation, to implement relevant policies and measures to solve major problem in the innovation-driven development.
